Killing Chickens

I guess that anyone reading this today will probably think what an old softie! –

but hearing on the news the other day that due to a few chickens dying of a suspected bird flu, they killed about 30,000 at the farm. To me, it was heartbreaking to see the way they were tipping dumper loads of them into trucks, all dead. All those chickens had lives, they were young living creatures, the majority of them weren`t ill, what right did we have to take away their lives. It seems a crime to do that.

Following that logic if someone in a town gets an infectious or contagious disease does that mean in future they`ll slaughter everyone in the town incase someone else get it???
