I`ve just tried this Easter Quiz or trivia questions, but only got 60% correct. And even these questions didn`t come up with one that I`ve been wondering about, and I guess I should know the answer too, but I don`t!, and that is Why do we have hot cross buns on Good Friday? I know on Shrove Tuesday we have pancakes because of the tradition of using all the fat, eggs, milk etc up before fasting for Lent. But what`s the significance of the hot cross buns? Anyone know?

I think the cross is the clue. Good Friday - day of crucifixion.
Yes, but why spiced fruit buns? why not bread rolls or something else?
